Junio 240SRX-Ring Joint Gasket is the same in design to the RX Ring . To distinguish from Junio 240RX-Ring Type Joints the suffix “s” is used to indicate the additional pressure passage hold in the ring cross section. This is to indicate the additional requirement to prevent pressure lock when connections are made up underwater.

Junioseal is able to provide safe, dimensionally and functionally interchangeable subsea wellhead, mudline and tree equipment within the scope of API.

The performance requirement of pressure integrity, thermal integrity, material choice along with no observable leakage allowable are met with these sealing desires.

The Junio-240SBX Ring Type Joint is the same design as the BX Ring, however the suffix ‘S’ indicates that additional pressure equalisation holes have been drilled to prevent pressure lock in accordance with API 17D for use on sub sea wellhead and christmas tree equipment.

Lens Gaskets

Junio 240L Lens gaskets are reusable, as the sealing effect is generally achieved by elastic deformation of the surfaces. The projected sealing width bG is calculated in relation to the angle a, which forms the sealing surface against the direction of the force (tubular axis) depending on the E modulus EG and the surface pressure exerted by bG = 100 ·σ/ EG · r ·sinα.

Junio 240L Lens gaskets are impervious to overpressure. With increasing loads, the contact surface between the spherical lens surface and the spherical flange groove increases, so that the surface pressure only increases to a lesser extent.

A disadvantage with standard sealing lenses is that, at high pressures and temperatures, the sealing lens can bulge along the circumference and weaken the tension of the connection. Also, at greater nominal diameter, the flange can become stuck in the area of the raised face diameter d5 and lift up at the sealing diameter.

We can also specially produce bellows lenses, lens blind spectacle gaskets and half-lenses. Lens blind spectacle gaskets are made of a sealing lens and a lens blind, which are connected by a ligament. It is also usual to use lens blinds on their own. In this case, it is useful to weld on a small plate to render the lens blind distinguishable.

Style RX is a pressure-energized adaptation of the standard Style R gasket. The RX is designed to fit the same groove design as a standard Style R, making the joints interchangeable. The modified design uses a pressure-energized effect that improves the efficiency of the seal as the internal pressure of the system increases.

Style BX pressure energized gaskets are manufactured in accordance with API 6A and are designed for use on pressurized systems up to 20,000 PSI.

When correctly fitted, the style BX gasket allows virtual surface-to-surface contact of the flange faces, which means that the gasket is fully trapped on both the inner and outer diameters.

All BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure that may be trapped in the grooves.

Properties and Application

The metallic ring joint gaskets are manufactured according to the API 6A and ASME B16.20 standards for application at elevated temperatures and pressures. The small sealing area with high contact pressure results in great reliability. Some types of Junioseal ring-joints are pressure activated, that is, the greater the pressure the better the sealability. Our metal ring joint seals have been designed to withstand exceptionally high assembly loads over a small area, thus producing high seating stresses. The Junioseal ring type joints are produced in several shapes and sizes, and are suitable for oil and gas pipeline flanges, pressure vessels, high speed joint faces, and other demanding applications.

Shape and Construction

The Junioseal ring joint gaskets are produced in several shapes and sizes to meet the most demanding applications.

R–Oval Type: Standard ring joint gasket with oval cross section and designed to flanges with standard ring joint grooves.
R–Octagonal: Standard ring type joints with octagonal Type cross section and designed for flanges with standard ring joint grooves. Interchangeable with oval section gaskets on modern octagonal grooved flanges.
RX: An adaptation of the standard R type ring gasket and designed to fit the same groove design. It is interchangeable with standard R type gaskets
BX: Specially designed for very high pressures. All BX ring joint gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalization of pressure which may get trapped in the grooves. It is only suited for API BX flanges and grooves.

Lens Gaskets: Lens gaskets are reusable, as the sealing effect is generally achieved by elastic deformation of the surfaces.
